One calendar for the whole household, whether that is a partner, a couple of roommates or a family. The chores, the birthdays and the things that only come around twice a year are already on it.
Already filled in
One calendar, and it already knows.
Most shared calendars start empty and stay exactly as good as the effort you keep putting in. Beatrice starts with what it already knows about your house.
Chores appear on the day they are due. Birthdays appear with enough warning to do something about them. The car, the water heater and the pets sit on the days they matter. None of it was typed twice, because none of it was copied over. The calendar is a view of things that already exist, so changing a chore changes the calendar and there is nothing to keep in sync.
The pool
Who has got what.
Every open job in the house sits in one pool and anybody can take one. Once it is claimed it has a name on it. Once it is done it stays done, with the name and the minutes it took.
That is enough for the thing that actually causes the arguments. The problem is rarely the work itself. It is having no idea whether the work is handled.
Long cadences
The things that only come around twice a year.
Weekly and daily are easy. What gets lost is everything slower than that.

Beatrice holds those properly, and it schedules the next one from whichever is later, the day it was due or the day you actually did it. So a job you finish three weeks late does not come back already overdue.

There is nothing to import and nothing to reconstruct. The house fills in over the first week as you add what is actually true, rather than asking you to enter a year of chores before it is any use.
No ranking
It counts, and only ever upward.
Effort adds up and nothing is ever taken back. No penalties, no streak, nobody ranked against anybody. It will show you a total. It will never say a sentence about whose total is bigger, and there is no field in the data that could.
